What has the Department been up to?

Department News

The Department of Chemistry has been extremely active of late in a number of areas.

Faculty changes

The Department has added Drs. Chris Mulligan, and Jun-Hyun Kim. Dr. Willy Hunter has taken a position as the Director of the ISU Center for Math, Science, and Technology (CeMaST). Ms. Elisha Swanson and Ms. Sara McCubbins have taken over Chemical Education coordination.

Awards and Recognition

Dr. Cheryl Stevenson was named 2007 ACS Researcher of the Year at an Undergraduate Institution.

The Department has been very successful in being recognized for teaching and research at the University and College level.

Newsletters

The Department sends out periodic updates as "News for Alumni and Friends". Eventually we hope to convert to an all-electronic format. In the meantime...Join our mailing list now (maintained through the alumni association). An e-mail address there will allow us to eventually send you the electronic versions of these newsletters.

A more substantive ISU Chem-Letter will be available once per year. The Fall 2009 version is available at this link.
