Advising
Advisors in the Department of Chemistry are eager to work with you to attain your career goals. However, it is important that you, the student, recognize your responsibilities and freedoms in designing a plan of study to fit your future goals.
The purpose of this Advising Page is to provide students with the degree requirements and electives available which will provide critical foundations and creative ideas to develop as a chemistry major.
Students are responsible for their own progress through the Chemistry/ Chemistry Teacher Education/Biochemistry & Molecular Biology major. Information necessary for planning a student's schedule is provided in the university catalog and on this website. Advisors and faculty are happy to provide students with course and research opportunities to forward their degree and career paths, but the student is in the driver's seat to decide on which path to take. Be sure you have a map, as well as directions to achieve your goals.
Read below to review the procedures and policies for meeting with an academic advisor, for information about course overrides or what to do if a class you want is closed, or for other useful information about registration.
